Phil Ford Golf Classic coming to Nashville

NASHVILLE - Plans for the second annual Phil Ford Golf Classic are underway, with over 20 celebrities already committed to attending.
The Phil Ford Golf Classic is an annual fund raising event for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Nash and Edgecombe Counties. Last year's inaugural event raised over $119,000, all of which went back to the local Boys and Girls Clubs.
During last year's event, Phil Ford, a 1974 graduate of Rocky Mount High School, committed himself to help with the event and brought out dozens of celebrities to participate in the tournament.This year, Ford has once again committed his time to help.
The golf tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1 at Birchwood Country Club and the Ambassadors' Black Tie Gala is set for Friday, July 31 at the Gateway Center in Rocky Mount.
Nashville's Chamber of Commerce will host a kickoff for the special event next Tuesday.
Celebrities who are planning to attend this year's event include Phil Ford, Dave Hanners, Darrell Armstrong, Spud Webb, Dell Curry, Stephan Curry, John Kuester, Walter Davis, James Worthy, Chris Collins, Chris Corchiani, LeVelle Moton, Buck Williams, Jerry Stackhouse, Danny Talbott, Tony Womack, Al Wood, Jeff Gravely, David Henderson, Jeff Capel, Roy Williams and Dean Smith.
