Contention mounts over use of Legion Stadium

WILMINGTON - It might say "Home of the Wildcats" on the outside of Legion Stadium.
But some of New Hanover High School's sports teams are feeling less than welcome at the stadium complex along Carolina Beach Road.
It's a problem that even money probably won't be able to fix, including the nearly $600,000 the Legion Stadium Commission has remaining in the bank for capital improvements to the facility.
New Hanover High has a growing number of sports offerings, especially for girls.
