DENVER - East Lincoln High School's girls' basketball coach is accused of brawling with parents after a tournament game Wednesday night. East Lincoln coach Deidrea LeGrand was involved in a fight with five other people after the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A conference tournament game against North Lincoln, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
A member of LeGrand's family confronted a parent who made comments during the game. Deidrea LeGrand walked over to learn what was said and a fight erupted, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Deputy Robert Milton, the East Lincoln school resource officer, was providing off-duty security at the game. He requested backup from other sheriff's deputies, and six people were issued citations and escorted out of the school.
