Hayesville track coach dies

HAYESVILLE - Hayesville High students walked around the school’s track Thursday, talking about the good times they shared with their beloved coach and teacher, Buck Carney.

Carney, who was battling throat cancer, died Wednesday night. He was 64. Hayesville brought in extra counselors from the elementary and middle schools to help the students deal with the loss of a man who gave 20 years to the school.
