J.H. Rose baseball roughs up Jack Britt

GREENVILLE - As if to concrete the fact that pitching was Fayetteville Jack Britt's problem against J.H. Rose on Friday, a wild pitch allowed the Rampants' 12th runner to score, ending the game by the 10-run rule.

The Buccaneers started ace Austin Sandy, and the Rampants (21-3) got to him early in a 12-2 Class 4-A state playoff baseball victory Friday at Guy Smith Stadium.

Rose's Daniel Boyd started the scoring with a solo home run to left field, and Sandy was never able to recover. The Rampants scored five in the opening frame, with the final three tallies coming on a play that featured two Buc errors.
