VALDESE  - Scott Lambert is ready for the next five months and all that's ahead of him as the first head football coach at Draughn.

Burke County's newest high school opens in August. And the first scheduled game is Aug. 22 at home against East Burke, Lambert's alma mater and the school where he has worked since 1995.

"We're starting from scratch... we don't even have a football," Lambert said Friday. "We'll have to do everything and we won't even be able to get on campus until June 1."
