KANNAPOLIS - The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans wanted to shock the world.
Mission accomplished.

Ryan Overcash pitched a three-hitter and the Trojans shut out North Mecklenburg 2-0 Tuesday night in the championship game of the Intimidators Classic.

"I don't think that anyone really gave us a chance to win this game," said Trojans head coach Joe Hubbard. "But we sat and talked about it last night that we wanted to get to the point where we had an opportunity.

"We talked about it again before we left. The only people that really believed we could win was maybe our parents and the people in this room."

North Meck was a perfect 10-0 this season until playing Northwest.
