Capitals defuse Rockets

October 28, 2009
Person High School

After a dominating run in which they won 21 of 22 matches, went undefeated in the PAC-6 Conference, and hadn't lost a set in conference play all season, the Person Rockets finally met their match in the second round of the Division 4A East Regional volleyball playoffs Tuesday night at Rocket Gymnasium.
The third-seeded Broughton Capitals, led by their star hitter and LSU recuit Nicole Willis, came into Person's loud and rowdy gym and took advantage of their size and height to earn a 3-1 win over the #1 seeded Rockets.
It was a disappointing conclusion to an otherwise memorable season for Person, which finished 22-5 overall and captured its fifth straight PAC-6 conference championship.
