Person JVs take advantage of walks in 12-7 win

The Person junior varsity softball team continued its winning ways by defeating the East Chapel Hill Wildcats, 12-7, in PAC-6 action Tuesday at the Person High School Field.
The Rockets, who improved to 3-0 with the win (2-0 in the conference), took advantage of 13 walks handed out by the Wildcats pitching and also got help from a triple and three RBI's by Mika Smith, a triple and two walks by Chelsea Vaughn, a double by back-up player Madason Tillman and singles by back-ups Ashley Clark and Brooke Garrett. Ashley Lewis drew three walks while Clark, Vaughn, Taylor Fox, and Chelsea Murray all drove in runs. The battery of pitcher Mary-Lynn Burton and catcher Vaughn got the win, Burton finished with six strikeouts and just on walk.
